NOTE: This is not a seminar, it is a class with a hands-on environment designed to teach church safety officers how to respond to critical events in real time. Zero real weapons or ammo allowed. We will spend a short time in class reviewing basic safety officer principles with the balance of the class being hands on reality-based scenario training.

Topics Covered

      • Review of safety team basics… why bother, situational awareness, evacuation, radio communications, active shooter… etc.
      • Equipment for the job: You must attend equipped as you would be on duty (EXCEPT REAL WEAPONS). Zero real weapons allowed on campus
      • Empty hand skills (including weapons retention): Basic control and compliance techniques
      • Response Strategies: Individual contact assessment as well as team dynamics during a response
      • Communication under stress: Verbal, visual, and radio communications will be stressed throughout all training events
      • Reality Based Scenarios: Including multiple various situations ranging from ministry opportunities to active shooter, all based on real events
